Description
Viral snow ice cream sets up like soft serve using salted snow outside a chilled metal bowl. You stir cold whipping cream, vanilla, and powdered sugar for 5 to 10 minutes until thick. It serves about 4 scoops and tastes best right away.
Ingredients
1 small container whipping cream (35%)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
1. Chill your mixing bowl and cream before starting.
2. Dig a hole in fresh snow to hold the bowl, and line the bottom with salt to lower the freezing point.
3. Place the bowl in the snow and pour in cream, vanilla, and sugar.
4. Stir continuously for 5 to 10 minutes until it thickens to a soft serve consistency.
5. If needed, add more snow and salt around the bowl to keep it cold.
Notes
Use cold ingredients and tools for faster freezing.
Stir consistently to prevent icy texture.
If mixture will not firm up, add more salt and snow around the bowl.
Best consumed immediately; if frozen solid, let it sit 10 to 15 minutes before scooping.
Snow acts as an external freezer, not as an ingredient.
For dairy free, try coconut milk, oat creamer, or cashew cream.
For thicker texture, add a little sweetened condensed milk.
Honey or maple syrup can replace sugar; change extracts to customize.
Top with sprinkles or chocolate drizzle, or serve with warm desserts.
