Description
A calming lemon balm tea with lemon and optional ginger that supports digestion, helps with evening cravings, and fits an easy daily routine. Make it in about 10 minutes and drink it warm or iced.
Ingredients
1 cup fresh lemon balm leaves or 1 tablespoon dried lemon balm leaves
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger (optional)
Juice of 1/2 lemon
2 cups filtered water
1 teaspoon raw honey (optional)
Instructions
1. Boil the water.
2. Add lemon balm leaves and ginger to a teapot, mug infuser, or heat safe jar.
3. Pour the hot water over the herbs, then cover.
4. Steep for 7 to 10 minutes.
5. Strain into cups.
6. Stir in lemon juice.
7. Add honey if desired, then sip warm or chill for iced tea.
Notes
Use dried lemon balm if fresh is unavailable. 1 tablespoon dried equals about 1 cup fresh.
Drink warm or iced.
Best times: morning for a calm start, before meals for digestion, or evening to reduce cravings and support sleep.
Store brewed tea in a sealed jar in the fridge up to 48 hours.
Variations: add a green tea bag for energy, cucumber for a refreshing infusion, or a pinch of cinnamon for sweet cravings.
For a sugar free version, skip honey.
